Benetton Rugby Treviso was founded in 1932 and is probably the best known of the Italian rugby union clubs currently competing in Super league. They are based in Treviso in Veneto, and owned by the Benetton clothing company.

Treviso play their home games in the Stadio Comunale di Monigo, Treviso in the Veneto Region of North East Italy. With the backing of one of the towns major businesses the club has a good fan base and the funds to remain at the peak of Italian Rugby.

Treviso is one of the most successful sides in Italy and usually provides the bulk of the national team. The club has won 12 national titles in: 1956 1978 1983 1989 1992 1997 1998 1999 2001 2003 2004 and 2006. They have also won the Italian Cup on 3 occasions: 1970 1998 and 2005. As long as they have the Benetton money we expect they will continue at the top.
