Castleford Tigers are a rugby league club formed in 1926 and they play their home games in the 11,750 capacity stadium called The Jungle, Wheldon Road, Castleford in West Yorkshire. The Tigers are also called Cas, Cas Tigers or Classy Cas by their supporters, the club has also been called the glassblowers, from the industry which was a major employer in the town.

Castleford Tigers have had an up and down history in the Super League era, having been demoted twice, they have managed to bounce back on both occasions and play in the Super league in 2008. They have won many trophies prior to the Super League era and these were: Challenge Cup winners in 1934-35, 1968-69, 1969-70 and 1985-86, Yorkshire Cup winners in 1977-78, 1981-82, 1986-87, 1990-91 and 1991-92, Yorkshire League winners in 1932-33, 1938-39 and 1964-65, Regal Trophy winners in 1976-77 and 1993-94, plus BBC2 Floodlit Trophy winners in 1965-66, 1966-67, 1967-68 and 1976/77. During the Super League era they have been National League One winners in 2005 and 2007.
